FDA panel turns down Vivus' diet drug

The FDA's Endocrinologic and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee on Thursday voted 10-6 to recommend against approval of Vivus Inc. (VVUS) obesity drug Qnexa.  The San Diego Union-Tribune talked to MTSL Editor John McCamant, who correctly predicted that the panel would reject the drug because of safety concerns, for their story:
